It starts with
understanding the business.
I spent fifteen years helping companies including Canon, Scholastic, and Accenture bring ideas to life. What I've always enjoyed most is figuring out what a business needs and how to make it make sense to the people it wants to reach.
Who are you? Who are your customers? Why do they choose you? I like listening, asking questions, and finding where things aren't connecting. Sometimes that means clearer words. Sometimes it means rethinking how a website helps someone find what they need.
These days, I work on websites, branding, and projects of my own. I share the decisions and lessons in Field Notes, including the things I'd do differently. You might find something you can try yourself.
